Therapeutic Modalities
Therapists typically are trained in one or more therapeutic modalities, theories, or types of therapy. These modalities inform the therapist about what is important in their work with their clients and also provides a framework for engagement. I have the training and use four modalities primarily.

Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) are two modalities that use with individuals, families, and couples. To learn more about Narrative Therapy please click here. For more information about Solution Focused Brief Therapy please click here.

Additionally, with couples, I will sometimes rely on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). For more information regarding EFT please click here.

Lastly, I am currently in training and receiving supervision for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) which is a therapeutic modality primarily used in working with a client who has experienced Trauma and where depression, anxiety, or PTSD is a primary concern. For more information about EMDR please click here.
